Occupational Therapy provides practical support to empower people to facilitate recovery and overcome barriers preventing them from doing the activities (or occupations) that matter to them. We follow the code of conduct and standards of practice published by The Royal College of Occupational Therapy as well as practice standards from the Health Care Professionals Council. We are recognised medical professionals that work in the team of Allied Health Professionals. We aim to focus our Occupational Therapy treatment to the following areas:
● Assessment & Reports
● PIP Assessments
● Accessibility
● Home Adaptations
● Hand Skills
● Movement and Mobility
● Independence in ADL
● Falls Prevention
● Postural Assessments
● Equipment Prescription
Our exercise classes and one to one physical rehabilitation sessions are tailored for those who'd like to maintain their
physical ability. We will conduct a thorough initial assessment to determine your baseline and where you’d like to improve. Exercises range from seated to standing and are graded depending on the individual's ability. We ensure we cover a range of exercises which focus on functional mobility. Our clients who benefit from this service are primarily older adults, people with a neurological diagnosis such as an ABI or Parkinson’s and also those with skeletal impairments however we are trained to support anyone.
Our balance classes are a great opportunity to meet new people, get out into society and have a responsibility to attend something weekly. They benefit from the social inclusion side of things just as much as the physical exercise!
We always consider the whole person. HUUMAN has branched out into the world of holistic therapy and alternative healing. Our holistic therapist creates a calming environment in which relaxing massage, mindfulness and breathing exercises can be performed. The calm approach is wonderful for people who require support however need time, space and peace to manage best. We can host these sessions in your home or provide a location to meet whether that be a community space or somewhere rural to utilise the benefits of nature. HUUMAN has recently become a contractor for Kate’s Home Nursing in Bourton-on-the-Water as the holistic therapy provider to their
palliative patients.
Holistic therapy is for anyone, let us support your mind as
well as your body and your environment.
As well as continually keeping ourselves up to date, HUUMAN provides training to businesses (clinical and non-clinical) to keep their staff safe, current and inclusive. At HUUMAN we ensure to maintain current practice standards within our profession in order to share this knowledge with our clients and associates. Huuman offers training on the following subjects:
● Learning Disability Awareness
● Moving and Handling
● Mental Capacity Awareness
● Specialist Equipment (Care based)
● Complex Care Massage Techniques
We ensure that a form of teaching is given to our one-to-one clients. After treatment it is important we teach our clients, their carers and staff what we have delivered and how that therapeutic care should be continued. As we know therapy doesn’t happen in a day - it needs to be worked on everyday. We do this through up to date and accurate record keeping as well as thorough handover.
